First off, I was impressed with Jarad White, who patiently listened to what I wanted done, then tactfully made suggestions. Dena was most helpful over the telephone. The tree crew endured my paranoia that the trees would be butchered and they would be killed in the process. They cleaned up nice, and completely.

Most of all I want to adopt your three landscapers! Jonathan Robinson has such a keen eye for design and made wise and wonderful suggestions. Chris and Derrick worked hard and carefully. All three were so polite and cheerful even when they must have been absolutely exhausted. It was a pleasure to see them working in my yard, which was SUCH a mess. Such nice and polite young men!

They made order out of chaos - a backyard paradise out of a jungle and a house with new front yard curb appeal! Thank you, thank you.

We would like to commend four of your employees for a job well done!

We contacted your office on September 28, 2011 due to a clogged French drain in our side yard. Jarad White came to our home on September 29, 2011; however, due to water standing in the ditch and drainage area, he wanted to wait and look at the site after the water receded. He returned on October 4, 2011, and gave us a proposal to correct the problem. Jarad went over everything with us, and we later decided to have your company complete the job for us.

During the week of October 10, 2011, your crew consisting of Jon Robinson, Derrick McKinney and Chris Dugas replaced the drainage system. They were the hardest working team we have ever seen. They worked so well together and did a great job. Even when they had to do more work than originally planned, they did not complain and continued working to complete the job in a satisfactory manner.

These four employees are definitely an asset to your business. Jarad makes a great impression and is very easy to talk with. Jon, Derrick and Chris are congenial and very hard workers. You are fortunate to have them as your employees.

In talking with your crew leader, Jon, I asked if your company could use or recycle for another job the brick landscapng borders around the yard, because once they were done I was just going to toss the borders in the trash. Jon told me the company would not reuse the borders, but that he and the crew would pull and remove the borders as part of the job.

  Dear Dr. Dan's,

I am writing this to applaud the work done by your crew. I am extremely pleased with the results of the shrub trimming, weed pulling and mulching. I was somewhat apprehensive of some of the things that were going to be done, but after a conversation with Jon and seeing that he was doing exactly as he said he would, I felt better and he put me at ease. He worked with me on the trimming of my crepe myrtle trees. Together we decided on how much the trees should be trimmed...what long branch needed to go and what needed to stay. That, I believe, is rare as someone else would have just gone ahead and done what he wanted. Derrick was soft spoken and polite and paid attention to detail. I then had the confidence in both of them and went in the house to let them do their job. I was also pleased with the way in which Dena handled my phone calls. She was very pleasant and got back to me with answers in a very timely manner.

All in all Dr. Dan's Landscaping was a very pleasant experience.

Your work crew was terrific! I was amazed at how they made such a monumental undertaking look easy. They looked like they were having a good time. I just wanted to say THANK YOU ! ! ! I am very impressed with your staff - starting with my first contact with DENA - who was professional, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly each time I spoke with her - AND - the TEAM OF GUYS you sent out to do the SOD work were amazing - they worked very hard, they shook my hand, smiled and introduced themselves, they went over and beyond when you, Dan, offered me extra services at no extra charge - the guys jumped right in and started pulling weeds, dug up and removed the elephant ear plants and pulled up the mesh plastic. That mesh plastic was put down by a previous sod installer and it had been driving me crazy - tripping me many times - so I LOVE that it is gone! My vet had told me elephant ears were poisonous to dogs so I had been meaning to remove them ever since I got our puppy - which was 6 months ago. You and your team also rescued me from the daily mud and dirt chaos that I had been putting up with for over a month - while I struggled to find a reliable sod installer. Meanwhile, my dog was digging in it leaving paw prints all over the pool area and my floors and carpets!

I am truly grateful for how quickly you responded and got me on your schedule. While your services were more expensive than quotes we received from other vendors - I was reluctant to go the cheaper route because we had problems in the past - and I am SO happy we went with Dr. Dan's Landscaping because it is SO true that "you get what you pay for." You were more expensive - but worth EVERY dime for the professional work, the extras, the staff , the courtesy - and the peace of mind that you stand behind your work!!!

We can't tell you how satisfied we are with the work that was done at our home...we couldn't be happier! The crew was on time, polite and always respectful.

The crew leader, John was so helpful answering all my questions with regard to caring for all the new plants that were put in. He even planted a pot with flowers that my wife Jan had purchased saying, "Ms. Bradley, I can plant those for you if you'd like." What a thoughtful thing to do...it wasn't anything he HAD to do.

Also, Jarad was such a pleasure to work with from the very beginning when the contract was signed, to the finish when he planted the final knockout rose bush.   Dear Dr. Dan's and Crew,

I want to thank you all for your hard work in improving my yard for my recently purchased home in Virginia Beach. My backyard was seriously over grown. It had twenty-five year old foundation plants that had taken over the yard. I had two huge trees that were rotting within and covered with poison ivy. Dan and crew saw to the tree removal and then cleared the lot of unwanted debris. Five tons of top soil was spread, aerated, and planted with grass seed. New beds were built with new foundation plants. The beds are now easy to take care of and beautiful.

Dan's builder, Bob, designed and custom built a storage shed including a potting bench attached to the back of the shed. The shed compliments my house in matching the exterior of my home. He also built gates and fencing. He did a wonderful job and is very personable and easy to work with.

The crew laid patio pavers to make a patio to accommodate my barbeques and smoker. My yard is now beautiful and I look forward to enjoying it for many years to come. When I need work done in the future, I will definitely call Dr. Dan. The whole team has been friendly, helpful and has done an excellent job. I consider Danny to be a dear friend that I could come to with any yard problem.

I strongly recommend Dr. Dan's to anyone who needs work done.

  Dear Dr. Dan and Staff,

I want to personally thank you for an excellent job. You were the only company willing to meet me on a Saturday morning to discuss my landscaping needs.

I informed you that my wife and I were putting our home on the market and needed to spruce it up beforehand. Your staff implemented a plan for cleanup in the front yard and a new landscaping design for the back. The Dr. Dan team did a spectacular job on both ends, and the palm trees are really cool.

Thank you again for turning my property around in a short amount of time. By the way, the water feature you selected for our yard is awesome!

  Dear Dr. Dan:

I just wanted to let you know that my French drain has been working perfectly through all the torrential rains we experienced during the Nicole storm!!!! No water was standing outside my door at ANY time. The dogs loved it, too, as they did not have to wade through 4 inches of water, or try to jump the little pond that used to form just outside my back door.

My dogs and I want to thank you again.

I would like to thank you and your team for coming out on a Sunday to work in my yard. Your company had promised to plant wax myrtles for my new landscaping project to create a privacy barrier. Your team showed up on a Sunday morning in the pouring rain and steadily planted 30 wax myrtles, wearing ponchos and rain coats. I want to thank you for keeping your word and commitment.

  Dear Danny, I saw your trucks in my neighborhood doing other jobs and I saw the quality of work, so I thought maybe I should give you a try. The price and professional courtesy you gave me were unparallel to any other service companies that I have used in the past. I would like to personally thank you for taking down and knowing the correct trees to be removed on my property. I have heard of: Buy one get one on box of tissues but never knew I would get a two for one on the amount of tree pruning your company offered. Your prices are outstanding, keep up the good work.

  Dr. Dans Landscaping is experienced and knowledgeable. The French Drain System was installed with proper planning and a perfect execution of hard work. Please thank the crew for their professionalism. Not much fun working in high heat & humidity. They got the job done and remained focused on doing it correctly.
