Seeding/Sod and Watering Guidelines
Seeding/Sod:
Mow grass low (Dr. Dan can provide for a fee).
Spray lawn with herbicide for selective weeds**
Spray lawn with Round up/burn off total/partial lawn**
Fill in low areas with top soil, if needed**
Fill in repaired areas with top soil, if needed**
If necessary, grade areas with compost**
Lime if needed (optional)**
Core Aeration performed for proper growth
Fertilize with Scotts starter fertilizer
Seed lawn with K-31 grass seed and /or apply fescue sod.
Seed lawn with winter rye (when applicable)
If new lawn, will seed with double quantity
If ordering sod, must be pre-ordered/deposit required
Customer MUST water lawn to ensure growth

Watering:
Water twice a day, everyday Do not allow seed to dry out
Once seed dries out, it is dead Do not water past puddles
Stop watering everyday once an inch of growth is showing; water longer each time & waiting longer between watering. Sod needs less watering.
Dr. Dan recommends watering your lawn at least 1” of water per week
The best time to water is from 6 to 9 AM and 5 to 8 PM
You should water a minimum of 20 minutes per area
After 21 days, you may scale back to 3 days a week, or less if it rains

Dr. Dan’s will offer a limited warranty on all seed & sod jobs.
